The biggest ignorance ( part 1)

Before we talk about the topic under discussion. We may touch upon the basic question what is ignorance or agyan. Ignorance is certainly not bliss. In simple words ignorance is lack of knowledge or gyan. And for attaining gyan you need some medium, we may call it guru for our purpose. Gyan takes us from darkness to light. Gyan has a myriad types and stages from a basic knowledge of say learning some signage, alphabets or speech to brahm-gyan, the knowledge of the Supreme.

Having said so, we now come to our main topic what is the biggest ignorance. For this, let me pose you a question Who Am I? Most will say, I am the body. Now that is what I call the biggest ignorance. Body without mind may be compared to the Computer hardware which in itself a marvel of science, has little value for the seeker unless we load it with software.   But to load software what we first need is to energise the hardware without which neither the hardware nor the software will come to life. I know this example is quite clumsy yet necessary to give a beginner some Idea regarding Body soul and mind.

But soul is not the energy that keeps the body going. Like the electricity in case of computer, it is the breathing of oxygen that gets transformed into electro-magnetic energy with the help of various body parts that keeps the body functioning. But that is all about the physical aspect of the body and known to any elementary student of Science.

They say where the science ends there begins the realm of spirituality, the domain of soul that extends ultimately to the Almighty.
